Absolutely Insane

I read it too - absolutely ridiculous. It sounds like this guy actually believe that people are going to be getting high from industrial hemp.  Has anyone EVER had any intoxicating effects from a fabric?

This is just one more example of how out of hand the drug war has gotten.  Even more ridiculous is how arbitrarily it applies to some drugs and not others.  People are killing themselves every day with pain pills as powerful as heroin, yet others are going to jail for years for smoking pot in their homes.

i think its quite amusing how

i think its quite amusing how he says "we must prottect public safety", from what? Hemp can be used for so many purposes it amazes me that our founding fathers grew fields of it cause of how useful the fibers are, yet today, it would interfere with cotton and tember trade, so it comes down to Money really. Thats all corprate companies give a fuck about is hemp would take away some of there millions, which the companies are scared of. I just get a kick out of how the gov must protect the public from Marijuana, yet tobacco kills 400,000 people a year and alcohol kills 80,000 people a year, weed, wait for it, a big whopping 0. So what do we need protecting from? Weed side effects: laughing, munchies, watching cartoons. Sounds real dangerous to me. This is the problem with gov, is that they must control every aspect of our lives. I have come to the conclusion that people need to quit being pussies about the subject of weed, and stand up for themselves. Ive been arrested twice for weed possesion, and i still dont think weed is bad. ive considered getting arrested on purpose over and over again for weed possesion, to protest the war on drugs. America, we are not a "FREE" country.
