Drug Enforcement Induces Memory Loss
Forget the alleged, temporary alterations to memory associated with marijuana use. Exposing oneself to too much Drug Enforcement is the real hazard to the human brain’s memory circuits.
Not only do drug cops forget prisoners they offload into jail cells, they forget simple facts about drugs and the law; they forget wholesale and retail drug prices, they forget what it means to live in a free country, to have a sense of justice, to exhibit a sense of loyalty, integrity and truthfulness to fellow citizens.
Forgetting about the waste of money and resources squandered on the drug war seems to be an annual, national memory implosion, and not one restricted to prohibitionists alone. Tyrants forget that the ‘pursuit of happiness’ is a powerful enough vibe to overthrow a government, which may be why they forget the phrase appears in the Declaration of Independence, and not the U.S. Constitution.
Forgetting about the millions of disrupted lives of drug war victims is another brain defect associated with drug enforcement officials. Forgetting there’s an ongoing drug war on the southern border with Mexico that’s killed an estimated 50,000 people so far is a popular item of forgetfulness among U.S. politicians.
Forgetfulness is such an intrinsic and pathological part of the drug war that the sinister malady should have a name of its own assigned to it, although the prohibitionists would probably forget it if there was one.
